About early last month, Nando's Restaurant Malaysia introduced a mixture of sweet zesty, tangy taste - filled with vitamin C Peri Peri flavour called Mango & Lime. The mixture, from the afro-Portuguese root was first introduced at the Nando's birth land - Africa and soon after it arrived Malaysia. The flavour which most Malaysians cannot resist; sweet and spicy.
This flavour is now on the updated Peri-o-meter sitting just right above Lemon & Herb and below Mild so you guys can guess the spiciness level.
The new flavour was accompanied by a newly design beverage by Nando's - Tropical Fruittea. However, the taste of the beverage was much stronger, more sour than the sauce on the chicken which immediately makes the flavour of the chicken on the taste bud disappear.
My husband realised that the sauce did not manage to penetrate into the chicken during marination as the sauce was thick, thus making the meat inside taste bland.
I on the other hand, enjoyed that I didn't have to gulp much liquid just to cool down.
Hands down my current favourite Nando's flavour - sweet with a little tinge of spiciness. Also, I love mangoes. So I'm super glad that they introduced and bring this flavour into Malaysia.
Peri Peri Brownies - chocolate topped with chilli flakes
My favourite desert from Nando's - The Caramel Cheesecake.
Quoted from my last Nando's post - click here.
The food tasting yesterday was different than the previous ones. Nando's Malaysia not only entertained our tummies, but also entertain us by playing games. There were two games that was played - Take the most creative photo & post on Instagram, & test your taste bud.
The latter game was quite challenging as all the Peri Peri sauce taste similar to each other. Fortunately my husband has good taste bud. They gave us 3 rounds with different flavour/platter to taste from. Evans had the tenders mix with mango & lime, my table-mate/close friend had hot spinach while I took on the liver/mild challenge.
Excuse my narcissistic self, I just thought how great I looked like in the pictures hahahaha. Xavier helped me reach out for the liver with my spoon, but I initially thought it was a fork as he poke the liver with the spoon. As y'all can see, I was blindfolded haha. My first pick up fell onto the ground/my footwear. wtf & thank you Najwa@MilkPR for helping me wipe it off.
So our team was down with a tie with another team & the tie breaker game was actually sauce tasting. Again, thankful for having such a good taste bud husband as because of him our team won incredibly wooo.
My husband : The sauce tastes a little herby so it's most probably lemon & herb.
Coincidentally it was my table-mate/close friend, Irene's birthday today so Nando's helped celebrate her birthday. Provided us with a candle on the caramel cheesecake yay Hope she's happy and contented. I'm extremely grateful to have met her during my internship days as we had gotten much closer even until now.
Happy Birthday Irene ♥
Forever 21 ya.
